We are looking for a Coatings Foreman to join our 100% EMPLOYEE-OWNED team.

First Shift: Monday-Thursday, 5:00am-3:30pm

  • Physical- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. safely or with assistance.
  • The capability of standing and bending over for long periods while performing manual labor with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Working Hours- Fulltime employment (40+ hrs/week).
  • Personal Traits- Excellent communication skills with positive teamwork and a safe attitude. Conscientious attention to detail and accuracy while able to multi-task and troubleshoot.
  • Display good leadership qualities. Be a role model for the department and set the standard of productivity, safety, and quality for employees of different levels to follow.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Directly responsible for all departmental operations. Oversees the management of equipment, scheduling of workstations and workers, requisition of supplies, and coordination of administrative activities as required. Helps watch over other production foreman's people when they are out of the plant. Produce parts and products following the established safety, quality, and cost standards of the Company. Prepare and deliver all matters of performance evaluations for assigned employees including annual performance evaluations and discipline. Authority to drive company forklift if trained.

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations in the department.
  • Helps other production foreman's areas when they are out of the plant.
  • Works closely with Director of Coatings and Quality Manager to ensure ISO/AS9100 standards and continuous improvement objectives and requirements are met.
  • Oversee the functioning and maintenance of equipment and infrastructure to ensure product and process quality and quantity objectives are met.
  • Ensure all dept. employees work safely, and all hazardous conditions are eliminated.
  • Set and monitor procedures following customer requirements to ensure that the highest quality standards are met with all work done in the department.
  • Create and maintain a staffing schedule with a redundancy plan to ensure deadlines are met even in the event of unplanned absences. Work with Director of coatings and Plant manager to determine manpower requirements needed to meet product throughput requirements.
  • Ensure that departmental expenditures are within guidelines directed by management.
  • Attend and contribute at production meetings.
  • Ensure ISO/AS9100 quality system and safety procedures are followed in the department.
  • Ensure cross-departmental communication is accurate and effective.
  • Oversee department employees; including performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control systems and procedures; safeguard and oversee the use of department supplies and materials.
  • Determine department tooling requirements and prioritize job sequence to assure the most efficient and effective production process.
  • Ensure all applicable operating policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Responsible for accuracy of department inventory quantities.
  • Ensure the department maintains a neat and clean work area.
  • Ensure output meets required deadlines while executing above.
  • Be willing to work extra hours when needed.
  • Ensure cross-training is adequate to maintain scheduling flexibility and redundancy.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Possess extensive knowledge of various procedures and operations within the department.
  • Broad knowledge to perform routine, extensive, and preventative maintenance and upkeep of coatings equipment and instruments used.
  • Ability to program, and operate all departmental equipment.
  • Excellent computer, communication, reading, and writing skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and explain schematics, blueprints, and/or technical manuals.
  • Possess good math skills including the ability to read and use a tape measure, height gauge, caliper, and micrometer to the fraction and decimal.
  • Excellent leadership skills. Ability to assess operational requirements and to plan and organize workflow patterns and schedules.
  • Ability to maintain high departmental cosmetic standards.

Education and Experience

  • Lead experience of two or more years. Three or more years of experience in a coating's functions preferred.
