Joinus as our new Application Scientist - Human Health

This position works under limited supervision and is primarily responsible for the design and development of probiotic dietary supplements and testing procedures for probiotic dietary supplements. This position works cross functionally with Sales, QA, QC, Operations and within the Product Development team to drive growth of probiotic product offerings.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

• Handlingmultifaceted application projects in a timely manner. Interacts directly with customers and other departments as needed in defining specific parameters for projects.

• Providingtechnical services and knowledge on Chr Hansen probiotic applications.

• Workingclosely with Account Managers to maintain existing sales, promotes sales growth with existing accounts by providing exceptional customer service.

• Maintainingsafe and clean working environment that is shared with other team members.

• Creatingnew formulations using "New Product opportunity form" and ability to work cross functionally with other departments to update as projects progress.

• Writingnew Standard Operating Procuedures (SOP's) and following established ones.

• Keepingaccurate research and development notes and documents for future reference.

• Developing custom formulations to meet customer requirements for probiotic dietary supplements.

• Working with other departments as needed on deviations, reformulations and continuous improvement projects.

• Conductingroutine testing such as TVCC, powder property and probiotic identification as needed.

• Evaluatingstability data and propose recommendations for formulation adjustments to ensure label claims are met through the entirety of the products shelf life.

• Developing testing methods for internal use and work cross functionally to transfer methods to applicable departments.

To succeed you must hold:

• Thorough understanding of Probiotic Dietary supplement applications and processing in one or more application segments.

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at the same time.

• Ability to read, write and speak English is a requirement for this position.

• Ability to write and conduct technical presentations internally and externally.

• Ability to read, collect data, analyze, and interpret technical information.

• Ability to write and present reports and technical papers.

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as percents, ppm and basic algebraic equations.

• Ability to apply principles of logical/scientific thinking to a wide range of problems, and to interpret and use nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, etc.).

• Ability to operate a variety of standard laboratory equipment and instrumentation (such as pipettes, vortexers, powder property testing equipment etc.).

• Possess a strong knowledge in Microsoft Office programs.

• Bachelor's degree in science related field with 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.
