The general job duties relating to vehicle operation are primarily performed outdoors. The daily work schedule will be determined by the designated route and individual Participant’s trip assignments. The driver starting and finishing time may vary slightly from day to day (M-F).
Tasks and Responsibilities

Operate vehicles over designated routes or in response to dispatcher/supervisor instructions

Comply with all driver and passenger record keeping requirements that include daily driver trip sheets, rider pickup and drop-off times

Complete and log detailed daily pre-trip vehicle inspections while reporting all noted deficiencies

Provide minor vehicle maintenance when needed (replacement bulbs, checking fluid levels and tire pressure plus specified interval testing of all vehicle safety equipment and other approved tasks)

Ensure the safety of all riders by use of their appropriate passenger restraining device inside the vehicle

Readily adjust to variable working conditions including adverse weather, traffic and road construction, passenger challenges, trip changes, etc.

Provide superior customer service including all necessary assistance to participants in boarding and exiting the vehicle

Document the vehicle activities for each day including odometer readings, fuel purchases, as well as any other required information
Position Requirements

Must have a verifiable past work history providing passenger transportation

Possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Pass a pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, background check
-
Ability to occasionally stoop and bend while being able to lift, pull or push up to 40 pounds

Able to respond to emergency situations as required in accordance with training received

Able to understand and follow written and verbal directions

Ability to read and understand a map of the service area
