Position Description

 Production Supervisor


POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY:

This person supervises the production employees and is responsible for the productivity, quality, sanitation (cleaning), set-up, and training that occurs on the shift. This includes, but is not limited to Production Operators, Assistant Supervisors. Facility Operators, Utility Operators, and Dispensing Operators.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is primarily performed in an inside environment. Employee may occasionally be exposed to airborne particles, wet environments and hazardous chemicals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1) Follow all CPI safety policies & practices
2) Follow all CPI cGMP policies & practices
3) Lead by example
4) Promote/encourage team-oriented work environment
5) Assign employees to work stations
6) Perform in-process verifications for production personnel
7) Perform math calculations
8) Maintain production records
9) Analyze production mistakes & recommend corrective action
10) Perform facility start-up and/or shut-down
11) Stage materials/equipment for processing
12) Coordinate the training of new employees
13) Transfer solvent from large to small containers
14) Evaluate employee performance
15) Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

1)   Ability to read, write (legibly) and speak the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance
2)   Must have achieved at least Level 2 Production Operator or have minimum 3 years experience supervising approx. 15 employees
3)   Ability to lift objects weighing up to 55 lbs. and move objects weighing 150 lbs
4)   Ability to follow oral and written instructions
5)   Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and ability to motivate employees to do quality work
6)   Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
7)   Understanding of the importance of regulatory documentation (cGMP's preferred)
8)   Understand purpose and content of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)
9)   Know the various types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available and how and when to use them
10) High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
